Make just one resolution – Your chances of keeping and succeeding are greater when you channel your energy into just one aspect.
Avoid previous resolutions. Set a new resolution, past resolutions only set you up for past disappointments and frustrations.
Don’t wait until January to start thinking about your New Years Resolution and instead take some time out a few days before or after the New Year period to reflect upon what you really want to achieve.
Break your resolutions down into a series of mini goals that are concrete, measurable and time based, that way you will achieve mini goals, giving you a sense of accomplishment.
Tell people about your goals, you’re more likely to get support and want to avoid failure.
Make your plans and progress concrete by writing things down and having inspiration.
Reward yourself! Whenever you achieve one of the smaller goals, give yourself a reward, it allows you to maintain motivation and a sense of progress.
Don’t pick a typical resolution – Think about something you really want out of life and something achievable in the desired timeframe.
Expect that you may return back to old habits from time to time. Don’t get down about any failures, look at them as setbacks rather than giving up all together and remind yourself of why you started in the first place.
Take steps to make it easier to achieving your goal. Constantly ask yourself when your undecided about things, if this is going to help you achieve your resolution.
Happy New Year!
