When setting up your desk at work, it’s important to get it right from the start. Poor office setup can contribute to workplace injuries, and with these simple tips, you can minimise strain on your body, and stay comfortable throughout your working day.

Here are some of our favourite & simple tips you can apply to your workspace.

  • When sitting, knees should be level with your hips, and the seat should not press into the back of your knees
  • Adjust height of the chair so your feet rest comfortably on the floor, or a footrest
  • Your back should be straight, and shoulders back. If this isn’t possible, place a cushion in the curve of lower back
  • Avoid resting elbows, forearms or wrist on hard surfaces or sharp edges.
  • Top of the screen at eye level or just below, approximately an arm length away
  • Keep wrists straight, forearms close and horizontal
  • Line up the keyboard with the monitor to avoid twisting
  • Position phone to decrease cradling or twisting actions whilst performing simple tasks
